Gabriella is a gifted and highly celebrated contemporary female Aboriginal artist. She is the eldest daughter of the late Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, the most renowned Aboriginal artist and one of the original painters of the Papunya art movement. With obvious influence from her father‘s work, Gabriella has created her own distinct style that is bold, vibrant and exciting that has seen her work exhibited and collected throughout the world.

Gabriella Possum Nungarrayi was born at Mt Allan. Central Desert in 1967. She is the daughter of the famous aboriginal artist, Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri (deceased), one of the founding group of Papunya Tula artists. Gabriella painted alongside her father from an early age, although she is an individual artist in her own right, her paintings, praised as “culturally significant” reflect her father’s distinctive style.

She now lives in Melbourne with her husband and five children.
