Maisey began painting in the early 1990‘s and has created a body of work that shows passionate commitment to preserving the important elements of her Aboriginal culture.
She uses traditional motifs to depict her Tjukurrpa, which are the sites associated with women’s ceremonies referred to as Minyma Inmaku. The combination of traditional circular motifs and often subdued palette allows Maisey to convey the love for her country and her desire to use painting as a means to record and preserve her culture for future generations.
